Hayden Memorial Library Food and Drink Policy
Inside Library:
*Beverages in covered containers (including but not limited to cans, bottles with caps, covered straw drinks, cups with a top, bottles with sipper tops)
*Vending machine type snacks (i.e. candy, cookies, nuts, chips, etc.) in a wrapper, bag, or container
Outside Library:
Ice cream, snow cones
*Food that requires a utensil like a fork or spoon to be eaten (such as soup or salad)
*Restaurant style food (such as pizza, fast food, etc.)

Whether inside or outside, all areas should be left as clean as they were before use. Unattended food and drink openly displayed in public areas will be confiscated and discarded.
Trash, recyclables, and uneaten food should be placed in appropriate containers. All spills, crumbs, smears, etc. must be cleaned up by the consumer. Paper towels can be obtained at any public service desk. Major spills or those potentially impacting facilities or property should be reported to the staff as soon as possible.
Food and drink privileges, use of library rooms, facility, and/or resources may be suspended if policy is abused.
