The ASCCC OERI’s RFP IV can now be viewed at tinyurl.com/OERI-RFP4. Applicants should review relevant webinars and ASCCC OERI collections prior to developing a proposal. Please see ASCCC OERI Request for Proposals IV – Timeline and Events for the latest information. Successful proposals must fill an unmet need and collaboration across districts will again be required. If you want to learn more, please attend an informational webinar or our office hours (details below).
Collaboration across at least three districts is a required component of all proposals. To meet this collaboration requirement, collaborators must all be anticipated users of the proposed OER from different California Community College districts. Collaboration is a required element as your product must be designed to serve the state, not a local course, program, or college.
Applicants who want assistance identifying collaborators should complete the Collaborator Recruitment Request form as soon as possible – and no later than December 10th, 2021. Given the timeline of the RFP process, initiating collaborator recruitment in a timely manner is essential.
Given the commitment of the California Community Colleges to equity, including the ASCCC’s focus on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Anti-racism (IDEA) and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office “Call to Action”, all projects should incorporate IDEA principles and/or culturally responsive pedagogy. To support faculty as they implement a culturally responsive and anti-racist pedagogy, the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges Open Educational Resources Initiative (ASCCC OERI), in response to Resolution 09.05 adopted in Spring 2021 (Developing an Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Curriculum Audit Process), has been tasked with the development of:

Join us for a review of the developed framework and a consideration of discipline-specific issues that warrant attention. Assist the OERI in identifying next steps in this evolving approach to improving course resources and student success.

RFP IV Focused Webinar I - Making the Case
To be competitive, all proposals must focus on a target course or courses and create or improve OER that will ultimately lead to cost savings for students. How do you establish the import of your target course? How do you determine which colleges offer the course you are developing a resource for? And how do you calculate the potential savings associated with your resource? In this webinar we will explore strategies for answering these important questions.
