FAQ ?

Who can check out a laptop?

A: Currently registered Citrus College students and Citrus College staff/faculty. This service is not available to California Virtual Campus (CVC) students who have declared a home institution other than Citrus College.

What do I need to bring with me to check out a laptop?

A: Please bring your Citrus College Photo ID and proof that you are registered for the current term (i.e. Citrus App schedule  or schedule printout).

How much does it cost to checkout a PC laptop or Chromebook?

A: Both PC laptops and Chromebooks are free for currently registered students to checkout. Please be mindful of the loan periods and return all equipment on time. If laptops are not returned on time, the equipment will be assumed lost and you will be responsible for the cost of replacing all equipment.

Where do I return PC Laptops and Chromebooks?

A: Please return all laptops and Chromebooks to a staff member at the library's media or check out desk. Please do not leave any equipment in our book drops.

What happens if I lose or damage a laptop or Chromebook?

A: Students, staff and faculty are responsible for returning all equipment in the same state in which it was checked out. The library supervisor reserves the right to assess damage and apply associated fines. If any equipment is lost, a hold may be placed on your Citrus College account and you may be charged up to $1,000. Holds can also result in students being dropped from classes and interfer with registration. Unreturned or lost laptop bags are subject to a $20.00 replacement fine.

Do you also loan mobile hotspots (aka MiFi) to connect to the internet?

A: We do not currently have mobile hotspots available to borrow. Some public libraries throughout the region have hotspots to borrow, including Los Angeles County Library, Los Angeles Public Library, and Pasadena Public Library. Please check their websites for terms and availability.

Agreement Form

Those who wish to checkout a Chromebook or PC laptop from the library will need to fill out an agreement. A new agreement must be filled out each term. You can view the agreement below.
