Google Scholar

What is Google Scholar?

Google Scholar searches scholarly information such as academic articles, peer-reviewed articles, academic books, and court documents available on the Internet. It uses the power of Google searching, but filters results to be more academic.

If you have Citrus College Library set up in your Scholar Preferences link, and Citrus College has the article, the label View it @ Citrus College will show to the right.

For example, in the article shown below you can choose either the web source of the article (“[HTML] from sciencedirect.com”) which is faster OR from the Citrus College full-text version in our databases.

If there is no full-text link, clicking the article title will take you to a journal website that will ask you to sign in or pay to get the article.

Note: Never pay for an article.
Contact a librarian if you want a specific article, but it is not available right away. We can usually get the article within a few days for free or help you find another article on your topic.

To access your saved articles, click on the My Library link. This will be located at the top

Citing Articl
es

The quotation mark symbol below the entry gives you a pre-formatted citation in MLA 9, APA 7, and other citation styles.
Use a style manual or citation guidelines to make sure the citations you find in Google
Scholar are formatted correctly.

      Change it Tips APA

  1. After pasting the citation in your paper, create a hanging indent.
  2. Make it double spaced.
  3. Change the font to match the font of your paper.

Note: Google Scholar does not include DOI information. You'll need to grab the citation from Google Scholar, then click on the title of the article to go to the article page. The article page probably has the DOI, which you should add at the end of the citation with no period following as it can interfere with the link.

      It should Look Like APA
