What is a library database? A library database is an electronic resource created by a publisher that is subscribed to by the library to support the academic programs at a college or institution. Library databases are searchable and contain information about published items. Library databases allow you to find articles in journals, magazines, or newspapers. You can also find reference information, books, and other documents. Databases also provide citation information about the items searched and full text to view an entire article or document.
